SUMMARY:The Armed Man
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nUnley Concert Band will be joining forces with the Adelaide Harmony Choir for a special performance of Karl Jenkin’s moving mass ‘The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace’ at Scotch College’s Fisher Chapel. \nThe Armed Man was commissioned in 1999 by the Royal Armouries Museum for the Millennium celebrations and it was dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis. The premiere was performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2000 by the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra\, and is a very popular work which more than 3000 performances worldwide. \nThe version for this concert has been beautifully transcribed by eminent British wind and brass composer Martin Ellerby for symphonic wind band and choir. \nThe performance will also include works by Frank Ticheli and more. \nTickets available at Trybooking \n

DESCRIPTION:Unley Concert Band is turning 25 this year! To celebrate our silver anniversary\, we are holding a gala celebration at the Norwood Concert Hall. Returning to conduct the band are all five past musical directors plus our current MD Colin Prichard to lead the band in a celebration of a quarter century of amazing memories! Featuring band favourites\, two special new works written for the occasion\, laughs and friendship.\n\nTickets $35 – tables of up to 10. Past UCB members admitted for $30.00 per ticket. SUMMARY:UCB presents "H20" with Matt Klohs
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nEarlier this year\, UCB was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join a consortium of bands supporting a new work for symphonic wind ensemble called Symphony #1: H2O by Matt Klohs. UCB has had the privilege of working with Matt a few times before in Maestros with a Mission and we are delighted that in mid-August\, we will be performing this work with Matt at the podium. The symphony\, inspired by water and its many forms\, is a aural feast. \nDuring this concert\, we will also be performing works that we intend to present at the 2022 South Australian Band Championships including works by Toshio Mashima\, Arturo Marquez and Jess Langston-Turner. It’s going to be a concert NOT TO BE MISSED!
